Luther

Straight out of the Los Angeles underground — raw, loud, and unapologetic.

About Luther

Forged in the Fire of the LA Scene

Luther crawled out of the smoke-filled dive bars of Hollywood in 2019, built on a foundation of bone-rattling riffs and raw, unfiltered energy. What started as late-night jam sessions between four musicians who were tired of the polished, overproduced sound dominating the LA scene quickly became something dangerous — something real.

Drawing from the heavy grooves of early Black Sabbath, the swagger of Guns N' Roses, and the grit of Queens of the Stone Age, Luther carved out a sound that hits like a freight train and lingers like whiskey burn. Their live shows became the stuff of local legend — sweat-soaked, speaker-blowing nights at venues like the Whisky, the Troubadour, and the Viper Room, where the walls shook and the crowds never stood still.

The band spent two years grinding through the underground circuit, building a rabid following one scorching set at a time. Their debut EP, "Burn the Blueprint," dropped in 2021 and caught fire across rock playlists and college radio stations up and down the West Coast. Critics called it "a middle finger wrapped in a power chord" — and Luther wouldn't have it any other way.

Now with a full-length album in the works and a reputation that precedes them, Luther is poised to break out of LA and bring their brand of uncompromising rock to stages everywhere. This isn't background music. This isn't safe. This is Luther.
About

The Band

Meet the crew

John Luther

John Luther

Lead Vocalist

John Luther is the voice and the vision behind Luther. Born and raised in East Los Angeles, he grew up on a steady diet of Zeppelin, Soundgarden, and the chaos of the Sunset Strip. With a voice that shifts from a whiskey-soaked growl to a soaring howl in a single breath, John commands a stage like a man possessed. He formed Luther in 2019 after years of fronting bands that were too polished and too safe. Luther is not just a band to John — it is the only thing that ever made sense.

Sid Mozzel

Sid Mozzel

Drummer

Sid Mozzel is a force of nature behind the kit. A prolific drummer who has played with more bands than he can count, Sid toured with punk outfits, metal acts, and even a country-rock group that fell apart in a truck stop outside Bakersfield. Through it all he never found the right fit — until Luther. Raised in Chicago, he learned to play on overturned buckets before he ever touched a real kit, and that raw power never left him. He finally found home.

Peter Eiff

Peter Eiff

Lead Guitar

Peter Eiff is the sonic architect of Luther. A classically trained guitarist who threw out the rulebook the day he heard Slash rip through Paradise City, Peter brings technical brilliance wrapped in raw aggression. He moved to LA from San Diego at 21 and his reputation as a fearless lead player spread fast. His tone is unmistakable — thick, searing, and drenched in just enough feedback to keep things dangerous.

Sam Goodie

Sam Goodie

Rhythm Guitar

Sam Goodie is the backbone of Luther's wall of sound. Originally from Portland, Sam traded the rain for California sun in 2017. He is not the flashiest player in the room and he will be the first to tell you that. What he brings is harder to find — an ironclad sense of rhythm, massive chord voicings, and a quiet intensity that anchors the band when things get loud. Sam is the glue.

Joel Ness

Joel Ness

Bassist

Joel Ness lays down the low end that makes Luther hit you in the chest. A Long Beach native, Joel came up playing funk and soul before the heavier side pulled him in for good. He brings a groove-first mentality that sets Luther apart — his bass lines breathe, they swing, and they hit with a weight most bands would kill for. Joel turns every Luther song into something you feel in your bones.
